Cien Co-Founder Margot Carter to Speak at EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year Program

Cien co-founder Margot Carter has been selected to present at EY’s Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Program.

Founded in 1986 by Ernst & Young, The Entrepreneur of the Year Program recognizes entrepreneurs who create the products, services and jobs that help the economy and communities grow — and encouraging others to follow their lead.

As part of EY’s commitment to entrepreneurial companies, the program celebrates successful men and women so they can share their stories and inspire others.

To honor the participants of the program, EY stages its Strategic Growth Forum, an invitation only event that brings together more than 2,000 of the nation’s top executives, entrepreneurs, CEOs and investors.

Notable speakers include Robert F. Smith, Founder and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, Robert K. Kraft, Founder, Chairman and CEO of The Kraft Group and 15-time NBA All Star Player Shaquille O’Neal.

Margot Carter will speak on Friday, November 17 as part of a Breakfast session entitled “What’s next for boards” where she will cover the way corporate boards identify, prioritize and address disruptive market forces.

About Margot Carter

Margot Carter is a proven executive leader and independent director. She has served as an award winning global C-Suite Executive & Chief Legal Officer for 5 public companies, acquired and sold hundreds of businesses and taken numerous companies public, including RealPage. She currently serves on Boards, including Installed Building Products and Freeman Company. Margot has won multiple recognition awards, including Star Business Women from Harvard Business School, Best Department from RealPage and Princeton Review, Corporate Counsel from Association of Corporate Counsel and D Magazine, and Magna Stella by the General Counsel Forum.

Margot received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her B.A. from Binghamton University. She studied finance at the Cox Business School at Southern Methodist University and attended the Directors College at Stanford University.

When she is not focusing on Cien, she loves spending time with her family in Dallas, TX.
